To be fair, going from 2kpt to 3 kpt lowers your effective kill time by 15 seconds (90 seconds to bank/return divided by number of kills per trip), so increasing kpt seems to be easier overall efficiency gains than squeezing an extra 5-10 seconds during the fight. Going from 2 kpt to 5 kpt would shave 27 seconds off my effective kill time.
